Ranch Hand Orientation

The farm has always been my special place. The place where I find peace. I can watch the cows graze for hours or work my heart out and never feel ugh about it. I have always tried to find someone who could value the animals, agriculture and nature as much as I do...it has been difficult to mix that into the whole other set of needs I have as a woman, but finally we are making progress on this front.Jeremy was raised on a small hobby farm. Growing up he had horses, dogs, cats, ducks, bunnies and a garden. The land on which his house sits is a beautiful piece of earth, log cabin and all nestled in the Emerald mountains in Montana. It is to die for!

To say that Jeremy LOVES animals is an understatement. He is an animal :)
When my family had a "Family Meeting" earlier this year and had "DECIDED" to introduce Jeremy into the family cattle business, he was flattered and graciously accepted his new role- cowhand.

Throughout the last 5 years of our relationship, he has been fairly removed from the farm and the animals, but has limited experience with them. This weekend was Orientation weekend.

As seen here, we let him catch the wild ones and tie them up.
Practiced walking them and using the stick.

and washing and blowing them dry - luckily it was a fairly mild weekend to wash unlike the conditions in January for the Devener Stockshow
He had a blast!
I had a blast watching him too. It is so nice to know that I can share this passion with him too and he's taken the "bull by the horns"- literally.
